Turned in one of the best seasons in school history as he won the 2011 Sun Belt Conference Championship, was named to the All-Sun Belt team, and posted the lowest stroke average in over 16 years … Won three individual titles, starting with the William H. Tucker Invitational … Finished in a tie for first with score of 4-under par … Captured back-to-back individual titles by winning the Long Star Invitational outright with a mark of 5-under par … Was the first time a North Texas player had won back-to-back titles in over a decade … Had nine top-20 finishes on the year and four top-3 finishes … Won the Sun Belt Conference title with a score of 7-under par … Shot a season-low round of 66 on three different occasions and had eight sub-70 rounds on the year … His stroke average of 71.25 was the best on the team and the lowest in recorded history since 1994 … Ortiz, along with teammate Rodolfo Cazaubon, played in the World Amateur Team Championship as they were selected to play for the Mexican World Amateur Team in late October.

Had the second-lowest stroke average and was named to the all-conference team as a freshman … Posted the third-best round in the nation with a 64 at the Sun Belt Conference Championship, which also tied the conference record for lowest round in the event … Qualified for the NCAA Regional and shot a final round of 71 … Had seven top 20 finishes, and three top 10 finishes last season … Had a stretch in which he finished seventh, eighth, and ninth in consecutive weeks … Notched three rounds in the 60’s.

Was the No. 1 ranked player in the MJGA flight 16-18 and is the No. 2 player in the Mexican Federation of Golf … Was the No. 1 player in the Mexican Federation of Golf … Is also part of the National Junior Golf Team for Mexico for a second straight season … Finished second at the Byron Nelson Junior Championship over the summer … Was ranked No. 178 by Junior Golf Scoreboard after his finish at the Byron Nelson.
