There are 3 players from Ireland playing in the Players Championship this week…all names you have heard of before in golf, but none (unfortunately) that are Spirit alumnus. Padraig Harrington, Graeme McDowell, and Rory Mcilroy are teeing it up beginning Thursday at the famed TPC Sawgrass in search of a victory in the “5th Major” for professional golf.

Given that Rory has just recently moved back into the World #1 spot (thanks to his strong 2nd place finish last week at the Wells Fargo Championship), you certainly have to take a look at this group of players as strong contenders this week. Ireland has quietly been creating the world’s finest golfers in the last few years. The strong team at the 2011 Spirit Championship is testament to this fact.
