Yani Tseng Wins Ricoh Women's British Open... Again |
|
What a great weekend for Yani Tseng. Not only did she turn 22 years old yesterday, but she also won her second consecutive Ricoh Women’s British Open. (Happy birthday Yani!) But not just her second in row, her fifth major overall. That makes her the youngest man or woman in the modern area to accomplish such a feat. Impressive doesn’t even begin to explain it. Let’s go back to her age… 22. Imagine that… being 22 years old, playing on the LPGA (or the PGA for the guys out there) and winning events left and right. Rory Mcllroy was 22 when he won his first major. Yani shows up, turns 22, and has 5 of them. It almost seems like she is playing in a league of her own, winning nearly every event that she enters. Going Low at CarnoustieOn Sunday, Yani didn’t just win… she won in style, shooting a smooth 69 to end her week 4 shots over Brittany Lang. Yani said, "So many great players have made history on this course and I feel honored to be among them. I did a good job… I feel proud of myself." The top 5 looked something like this:
The top 5 all came from different countries, which makes it even more special for us here at The Spirit International. Yani played in the 2009 The Spirit International, and it’s a treat watching her perform well on the LPGA Tour. Click here to follow The Spirit International on Twitter. |
