Emily Tubert enjoyed a summer of success before coming to Arkansas as a freshman in 2010. Her summer highlights include reaching the round of 32 at the 2010 USGA Women’s Amateur and a big win at the 2010 U.S. Women’s Amateur Public Links Championship in South Bend, Ind., in late June.
She worked her way through the match play tree winning her final match 3&2. Tubert followed up the next week with her first look at Blessings playing in the AJGA Rolex Tournament of Champions. Tubert was tied for the lead after the second round and finished second overall shooting 74-72-75-73=294 on her future home course.
Tubert was a member of the winning Canon Cup West team in the summer of 2010 and was first at the Under Armour/Vicky Hurst Championship.
Tubert joined the Razorbacks from Burbank, Calif., where she was a three-year team captain at John Burroughs High. While competing for her high school, Tubert earned four MVP honors, is a two-time Pacific League Champion, earned All-Area Player of the Year in 2008 and 2009, Player of the Decade in 2009, was an All-Area First-Team in 2007, All-Area Second Team in 2006, reached the CIF Finals all four years and the State prelims in 2007 and 2009.
